I am so glad you are here. For over two decades, I have loved helping children, teens, and families grow into their best selves. I provide a supportive space to work through anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and big life changes. I also guide fellow therapists as a clinical supervisor, nurturing the next generation of caring professionals.
I have always loved helping people. I started as a lifeguard and swim teacher in high school. In college, I first tried business classes, but they were not the right fit. My advisor suggested I explore helping professions, and everything clicked. I found counseling in graduate school almost by accident, and it felt like coming home. The moment I attended a play therapy conference, all the puzzle pieces fit together. I knew I had found my calling in mentoring and guiding others.
I specialize in working with children and their families because our families are our greatest source of love and support. I have deep experience helping kids who struggle with managing emotions, navigating life changes, learning differences, and eating disorders.
I use a blend of evidence-based methods tailored to each person's unique needs. My approach is collaborative, warm, and practical, ensuring you feel heard and equipped with real-world skills.
Our first meeting will focus on understanding your goals and creating a plan together. For children, the first few sessions are like a new school year—they may explore quietly or test limits as they get comfortable. We will move at their pace.
I firmly believe therapy is a partnership. I will regularly check in with you (and your child's teachers, with permission) to track progress. I will also suggest practical steps to practice between sessions, which accelerates your results. Ultimately, we will work as a team to decide when you have met your goals and are ready to continue your journey independently.
When I am not working with clients or supervisees, I am a lifelong learner—currently tackling Spanish! I love swimming, cooking, spending time outdoors with my dog, Shiner, and writing poetry. My clients often say they appreciate my passion, my ability to see the best in their children, and that I feel like a true advocate on their team.
Taking the first step takes courage. Thank you for considering me to be part of your story. I believe we can create meaningful change for you and your family.
